In this podcast we travel to the South of Spain, where Anna Kemp and the neighbours of Laroles are building an amphitheatre.

Anna tells us about her adventures introducing non-text based drama to children (and their families!) and her long but incredibly joyful process of building a performance space in a rural setting.

You can find out more about Anna and the theatre by visiting (And if you would like to support the project with funds or contacts, do get in touch with Anna.) You can see how the project is evolving in the pictures underneath the podcast.

In the second part of the podcast, I talk (briefly) about García Lorca, my favourite playwright. You can see what else I have to say about him in the blog , and I also talk about him in The A to Z of Spanish Culture. I also manage to mispronounce the town featuring in the podcast: the correct name is Laroles.
